SUMMARY:Forest Management and Bats
DESCRIPTION:Come join researcher and PhD Candidate Katie Fitzgerald for her talk entitles “Bats and Forest Management”! Katie is currently working with Dr. Joy O’Keefe in the Human-Wildlife Interactions Lab\, focused on research that facilitates the coexistence of wildlife and humans in human-altered landscapes. Katie’s Ph.D. research focuses on monitoring the health of Indiana bats (Myotis sodalis) to determine whether forest management practices affect populations. Katie has also worked with bats in southern Mexico\, Borneo\, and Madagascar and California Condors in the desert Southwest.The talk will be available FREE via Zoom on 04 March 2026 at 9 AM Eastern US Time\, and will be made available for viewing afterwards on the GBatNet YouTube channel. The talk is appropriate for all levels of expertise\, including those who are new to the field and want to learn more about how they may plug into this type of research.
