DESCRIPTION:Come join postdoctoral researcher\, Dr. Edward Hurme\, for his talk entitled “Bat Migration”! Dr. Hurme is a Postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Migration at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior in Germany. He is a behavioral ecologist interested in environmental and social factors shape animal behavior. His research is focused on migration of small animals across Europe and Africa\, with a particular interest in understanding they navigate seasonal journeys and adapt to environmental challenges. He currently leads innovative projects leveraging cutting-edge tracking technologies to uncover the mysteries of bat\, bird\, and insect migration.The talk will be available FREE via Zoom on 05 Aug 2026 at 9 AM Eastern US Time\, and will be made available for viewing afterwards on the GBatNet YouTube channel. The talk is appropriate for all levels of expertise\, including those who are new to the field and want to learn more about how they may plug into this type of research.
