Sights, Scents, and Sounds: The Sensory World of Bats

Come join researcher and author Dr. Alyson Brokaw for her talk entitled “Sights, Scents, and Sounds: The Sensory World of Bats”! Dr. Brokaw is a professor at Cedar Crest College in Pennsylvania where her research focuses on the intersection between behavioral ecology and sensory biology; how bats and other mammals use sensory information during foraging, decision-making and navigation. Dr. Brokaw is also passionate about science communication and outreach and published her book “The Weird and Wonderful World of Bats” in 2025.
The talk will be available FREE via Zoom on 04 February 2026 at 9 AM Eastern US Time, and will be made available for viewing afterwards on the GBatNet YouTube channel. The talk is appropriate for all levels of expertise, including those who are new to the field and want to learn more about how they may plug into this type of research.
